UUusage Availability & Price
A menu bar app for macOSAI usage limits

Know when you'll run out — before you do.

UUusage lives in your Mac's menu bar and shows how much of each AI coding limit is left, when every window resets, and whether your current pace will run you dry first. Claude Code, Codex and more, side by side, at a glance.

Sets a demo quota level. The cat ball fills the way it does in the menu bar. At 10 percent or less, the menu bar text switches to the warning colour.

§01 — THE POPOVER

One click. Every limit, ranked by urgency.

Click the cat in your menu bar. Accounts that are out, or about to be, float to the top. Each row folds open to show both windows — the 5-hour limit and the weekly limit — with exact reset times.

01 — ORDER

Closest to empty goes first

Limit reached, then running out, then whatever has the least left. Accounts still waiting for their first report sit at the bottom.

02 — PACE

“Runs out around 2:41 PM”

When your pace beats the clock, UUusage tells you how many minutes early you'll hit the wall.

Demo data  Rebuilt from the UUusage v5 prototype. “Now” is Sat, Nov 7, 2:12 PM. Select a row to unfold it.

03 — TWO CLOCKS

5-hour and weekly, together

See which window will stop you first and when each one resets — “in 1 hr 18 min”, not a timestamp you have to do maths on.

04 — PAY AS YOU GO

Metered services, too

Connect GitHub Copilot, DeepSeek, Kimi or MiniMax to keep monthly usage, balances and connection issues in the same list.

§02 — HISTORY

Where did the tokens go?

Switch the popover to History for token totals from the past 24 hours to the past year, filtered by service or account — plus a 7 × 24 heat map of when you actually work.

Demo data  Focus the heat map and use the arrow keys to step through hours.

  • Ranges24H, 7D, 30D, 6M and 1Y. The busiest bar is highlighted; time before your data begins is drawn dashed, not as zero.
  • Heat mapSeven days by 24 hours. Pick any square to see that hour's tokens split into input, output, cache write and cache read.
  • DetailsEach account has a detail view with remaining limits, a 7-day activity chart and a model breakdown — where the tool's local records include one.
  • ExportExport daily token totals per service and account as a CSV from Settings → About. Export keeps working after the trial ends.
§03 — FLOATING BAR

Or keep it on the edge.

Turn on the floating bar and every account becomes a ring at the side of your screen. Hover or focus a ring for its limit and reset time. Left, right or bottom — your call.

§04 — SKINS

Seven skins. Three calm, four neon.

Classic, Eye-care and Iron Gray come in light and dark. Night City, Edgerunner, Synthwave and Blade Teal are dark only and glow at the edges. The colours below are the app's own design tokens.

    §05 — PRIVACY

    Numbers, not conversations.

UUusage needs to know how much you used, not what you said. Here is what the app itself tells you, word for word.

    On this Mac

    Local records, usage numbers only

Claude Code and Codex keep local logs. You choose the folder; UUusage looks there and keeps the counts.

“Finds the usage records of supported tools in your user folder and keeps only usage numbers. Your conversations are never stored or uploaded.”— Settings → Services
    With a key

Your key goes to one place

For services you connect with an API key, UUusage asks that service for your usage.

“Services you connect with a key ask that service's API for your usage. The key is sent only there.”— Welcome guide
    On screen

    Hide from screen sharing

An option keeps UUusage windows out of screenshots and shares — with its limits stated plainly.

“Screen sharing isn't detected automatically, and some apps may still capture UUusage windows.”— Settings → General

To count tokens, UUusage reads usage files that may contain conversation text; it keeps the numbers. Change the folder or stop access any time in Settings → Services. Shorter refresh intervals send more requests to your services and may hit their rate limits.

    §06 — SERVICES

    What it reads today.

Support as it stands in the current build. You can add Claude Code and Codex more than once, each with its own folder — Work, Personal, Backup.

Headed for the Mac App Store.

UUusage is distributed and updated through the Mac App Store and needs macOS 14 or later. The download link will appear here at launch. This page doesn’t collect email addresses or start a download.

Unlocked on this Mac before? Restore Purchases is in Settings → About.

    §08 — QUESTIONS

    Fair questions.

    Does UUusage read my conversations?

To count tokens it opens the local usage files of Claude Code and Codex in the folder you authorise. Those files can contain conversation text. UUusage extracts dates, token counts, model names and limit numbers and keeps only those; it doesn't store or upload conversation text.

    Which services are supported?

Claude Code and Codex are read from folders you authorise on this Mac. GitHub Copilot, DeepSeek, Kimi and MiniMax connect with a key or token. Antigravity, Cursor and Grok can't be read automatically yet — UUusage links to their usage pages instead.

    Is it a subscription?

No. The plan is a free trial followed by a one-time purchase on the Mac App Store. The price, currency and what is included are shown there before you buy.

Is UUusage made by Anthropic, OpenAI or GitHub?

No. UUusage is an independent app. Service names and logos belong to their owners and are shown only to identify the services it reads.
